Tourstop in Guanajuato, Mexico

As in the previous year, one stop of the Cerro Abajo race led to Guanajuato, Mexico. Guanajuato is part of the UNESCO World Heritage and is characterized by its colonial street network and 16th-century architecture. The narrow and steep alleys also characterize the racecourse: Over 1.6 km, the route winds through the narrow lanes of the colorful city. Participants must navigate between buildings, ride over long and steep stairs, and master wallrides and ramp jumps.

Good omen this time?

The signs for the race were not good: on the one hand, Tomas had a serious crash in Guanajuato last year, and on the other hand, he had the misfortune of dropping out of the last race due to a chain break shortly after the start. So, the motivation to put in a good run was all the greater.

Speedy descend through the streets of Guanajuato

Tomas raced through the streets of Guanajuato on his RIOT EN with an average speed of 51 km/h and already had a lead of almost half a second at the first split, which he maintained until the finish line. In the end, Tomas only had to concede to last year's winner Junafer Vélez and Sebastian Holguín, finishing an excellent third place.

What's next?

Currently, Tomas is in the midst of preparing for the upcoming season and will next compete on April 21st in Garda at "Mad of Lake".
