TECH AT GHOST

Suspension kinematics, spec choices, and build philosophy—at GHOST, every detail is designed with one goal in mind: maximum performance on real trails. From the proven Traction Link suspension platform to a wide range of carefully selected spec options and our uncompromising Full Party builds, this post takes a closer look at what defines the ride feel of our full-suspension bikes. Whether you’re chasing efficiency on long climbs, control on technical descents, or a no-limits setup for rough terrain, here’s how GHOST lets you dial your bike exactly to your riding style. Built for the rough - ready to shred.

TRACTION LINK

Traction Link is the suspension platform at the core of every GHOST full-suspension bike. Built on a Virtual Pivot Point design and individually tuned to each model, it delivers the perfect balance of efficiency, traction, and control—whether you’re climbing for hours or charging full speed downhill. Sensitive on small bumps, supportive through the mid-stroke, and progressive when it counts, Traction Link is built to keep you fast, composed, and fully in control on the roughest trails. Let's dig a little deeper:

The Traction Link is the unique rear suspension design used across our GHOST full-suspension models. Developed for disciplines ranging from cross-country, trail and all-mountain to enduro and freeride, this Virtual Pivot Point (VPP) rear suspension forms the foundation of all our full-suspension bikes. The kinematics are individually tuned to each model’s intended use: for example, the Lector FS is designed with a strong focus on maximum pedaling efficiency, while the Poacha places greater emphasis on downhill performance. This ensures that every bike delivers its own distinct, purpose-built character—without sacrificing the core advantages of the Traction Link system.

At the heart of the Traction Link is the combination of rocker and link, paired with a one-piece, extremely stiff rear triangle. High-quality sealed deep-groove ball bearings with additional O-rings on the end caps provide double sealing, ensuring long-term protection and durability.

The result is exceptionally sensitive small-bump response, strong mid-stroke support, and progressive damping behavior—particularly noticeable on the E-Riot and Poacha. To optimize braking performance and ensure full compatibility with coil shocks—which are used especially on the Riot, E-Riot, and Poacha—the Traction Link kinematics handle every challenge with ease.

Efficient pedaling and maximum traction are guaranteed: the rear suspension absorbs both large and small impacts with confidence, delivers outstanding grip, and provides unmatched comfort on rough, technical trails. This character is especially evident on the Lector FS, and to some extent on the Riot and E-Riot. The specially tuned damping supports you in every situation, conserves energy, and gives you the confidence to focus entirely on the trail.

Whether climbing or descending, braking hard or changing direction at speed—with Traction Link, you stay composed and on line at all times, controlling your bike with maximum precision. Built for the rough—engineered for riders who refuse to compromise on the trail.
